2016 Kia Sorento at Kearny Pearson Kia

When the 2014 Kia Sorento debuted two years ago with a whole new look, feel and set of capabilities, it took the auto world by storm and solidified the Kia brand’s dominion over the crossover segment. It’s been a tall order for Kia to continue bringing the heat with each passing model year after the redesign, but for 2016, the Kia Sorento is back and better than ever before. Here at your trusted local San Diego Kia dealership Kearny Pearson Kia, we’re excited to inform our valued customers that the latest iteration of everyone’s favorite crossover is now available on our showroom floor. Here’s everything you need to know before stopping by our dealership to take a test drive.

The 2016 Kia Sorento offers drivers three different engine options, depending on which of the eight trim levels you choose from. On the base-level 2016 Kia Sorento L and LX trims, you’ll enjoy the standard 2.4-liter DOHC, which delivers up to 185 horsepower alongside 178 lb-ft of torque. The LX V6, EX V6, SX V6 and Limited V6 trim levels, meanwhile, operate on a standard 3.3-liter V6 engine that delivers 290 horsepower and up to 252 lb-ft of torque. On the 2016 Kia Sorento EX and Limited, the standard powertrain features a turbocharged 2.0-liter DOHC, which produces 240 horsepower and a maximum of 260 lb-ft of torque.

Regardless of which engine is running the show, the 2016 Kia Sorento comes with a standard electronically controlled six-speed automatic transmission with Overdrive and a Sportmatic sports shifter for ultimate control and responsive handling.

Like its predecessors, the 2016 Kia Sorento doesn’t skimp when it comes to the interior features you desire in a modern-day vehicle. The Kia brand’s UVO eServices infotainment system comes standard on half of the trim levels, providing you with in-car connectivity that hooks up with the capabilities of your personal mobile device. Additional options range from Infinity surround-sound speakers to voice-command navigation with an eight-inch display and high-tech safety features like a rear-camera display, back-up warning system, blind-spot detection system and rear cross traffic alert.
